Detail

The Marangu Route is one of the most popular and well-established routes for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. It is sometimes referred to as the “Coca-Cola Route” because of the availability of soft drinks along the way.

The route is known for its gradual ascent and offers climbers the opportunity to sleep in huts along the way, rather than camping in tents. The huts are equipped with basic amenities such as beds, mattresses, and communal dining areas.

The Marangu Route typically takes five to six days to complete, depending on the climber’s pace and acclimatization. It is considered to be one of the easier routes up Kilimanjaro, but it still requires a good level of fitness and preparation.

While the Marangu Route offers a more comfortable climbing experience compared to other routes, it can be crowded, especially during peak season. Additionally, the gradual ascent can make it more difficult to acclimatize, increasing the risk of altitude sickness.

Overall, the Marangu Route is a great option for climbers looking for a less rugged climbing experience while still enjoying the challenge of climbing Africa’s highest peak.
