Here's what happens next: if you need to descend early due to altitude sickness, your guide will support you to a lower camp. Many operators offer partial refunds for unused services above a certain altitude — we don't, because our costs are the same whether you summit or not. What we do offer: if you fail to summit and want to try again within 12 months, we offer a 20% discount on a re-attempt. The mountain doesn't care if you summit on your first try. What matters is that you showed up, you tried, and you listened to your body.

However, Kilimanjaro is not accessible for wheelchair users, climbers who cannot walk independently for 6–8 hours per day over multiple consecutive days, or those with conditions that are significantly worsened by altitude.
